Please note this app uses a relatively new BOM API to get it's data. There is the possibility that BOM may restrict access to the API in the future. If this happens, we will endeavour to fix the app using freely available BOM data via FTP.

Local Weather (Australia) is a weather app for Australians that puts the key information all within one click. It provides the basics for easy viewing, with more detail just a click away. Current features include:
- App background matches the weather forecast
- Current forecast including high/low for the day, current temperature, 'feels like' temperature, wind speed, Rain chance percentage, humidity and short & detailed forecast descriptions on the main page
- Details available when the current forecast is tapped: UV Index, Sunrise/Sunset times, Rain since 9am, Fire Danger, Extended forecast text, Wind Gusts, Predicted rain min & max mm, Recommended sun protection times
- 7 day forecast including detailed forecast descriptions for each day - and when tapped, UV,
- Hourly forecast for the next 72 hours including temperature, predicted wind speed and likelihood of rain percentage
- Rain Radar with the ability to move the map / pinch / zoom or use the provided zoom buttons
- Weather warnings
- Search for locations and save them for easy access. Reorder locations by long press and drag
- The app currently has four widgets with more in development. The widget will update in the background and you can set the update/refresh period from 15 mins to 6 hours. You can also manually update the widget weather data without going into the app by tapping on the 'sync' button.
- For widgets with time & date - clicking on the time will open the alarm app, and clicking on the date will open the calendar
- Needs location permission to provide weather data for your current location. It will work without location turned on, but you have to search for and find your location. The location will be saved and it will load weather data for this location each time.
We are open to feature requests for the app. We can't guarantee we will add all of them, but definitely open to considering all suggestions!
The app works on Tablets, but does not scale overly well. It is targeted at phones.
