The app supports you in preparing for the practical part of the exam for the “Restricted Radiotelephony Certificate for Aviation Radio Service” (BZF). But already trained pilots and other interested parties can also use the Air Radio Trainer to refresh and consolidate their knowledge of VFR aviation radio.
To do this, users can simulate arrivals and departures at several German and Austrian commercial airports. The radio communication takes place either in German or English. The simulator's interface is designed to be very simple: no loud pronunciation is required! You respond to the radio messages uttered by the app by putting together prefabricated message modules to form the correct transmission.
A simulation of radio navigation methods is also included in the aviation radio trainer. Both procedures related to non-directional radio beacons (NDB) and rotating radio beacons (VOR) can be simulated. Five replicas of various navigation instruments are available.
The aircraft radio trainer also helps you prepare for the theoretical test. The integrated theory trainer includes the questions published by the Federal Network Agency* (BNetzA) for the German radiotelephony certificates BZF I and BZF II, BZF E, and AZF. Questions answered incorrectly can be repeated separately and an exam simulation with random questions and a time limit is also possible!
Additionally, the app helps build a vocabulary for communication in Aviation English. A vocabulary trainer is available that includes over 100 aviation-related terms.
